Artist Talk | Angela Gilmour

Join this online lunchtime talk with artist Angela Gilmour to hear about her thought-provoking meditation on climate change, land possession and border politics in her exhibition Without Borders, showing at GOMA Waterford (2nd September – 8 October 2023.

Without Borders encompasses many aspects of research carried out by Gilmour during a residency sailing the Arctic waters around Svalbard’s archipelago in 2019.

Sign up for the talk on Tuesday 19 September at 1pm for a chance to hear insights into Gilmour’s research and to see slides from her Arctic residency, including images of the science station and an abandoned Russia mining town. The artist will also discuss why it’s illegal to be born or die on the archipelago, and share photos of the only official grave yard where victims of the Spanish flu are buried.
