Capturing Perspectives | Vita Community Hub Exhibition Viewing

GOMA Waterford is delighted to invite you to Capturing Perspectives, a special exhibition viewing featuring artwork created by participants of the VITA Community Hub.

This exhibition highlights the vibrant work produced through the VITA Community Hub members’ weekly studio workshops at GOMA. Over the past year, participants have explored a wide range of styles and techniques in a series of 4–6 week modules led by GOMA’s studio artist facilitators. The result is a diverse and expressive collection that celebrates individuality, creativity, and community.
Students at Vita Community Hub also created photography and stop motion work in weekly classes with tutor Thomas Grace. These classes offer students an opportunity to explore their creative sides and develop their own visual language. Students in these classes consistently demonstrate imagination, patience, and technical skill – qualities that truly bring their stories to life. From composing thoughtful photographs to animating everyday objects with stop-motion animation, their work shows remarkable attention to detail and a genuine passion for visual storytelling.
This event is presented in partnership with Vita Community Hub, which supports service users in building independence, confidence, and meaningful connections within their lives and communities. Driven by the core principles of New Directions, Vita aims to empower service users to become more independent and confident within their own lives and in their local community. Linking with community organisations such as the VEC, ETB and the SIDO, Vita aims to offer their service users a range of courses and activities in their community which will help them to develop valued social roles. They also offer weekend and evening outings each month which help service users go to events in and around Waterford City such as concerts, theatre and sporting events.
