Live Art: The Dark, the clean, and the messy
30 April and 1 May 2025, from 2–4 pm.
The Live Art module, which underpins this exhibition, encourages students to engage with interdisciplinary, multimedia, and installation-based approaches to performance. Through both practice and research, the module supports an experimental and process-driven engagement with live art, enabling students to explore their own embodied experiences while considering the relationship between audience, space, and time. Furthermore, it cultivates an awareness of how personal perception influences artistic expression and performative action.
The presentation, titled The Dark, The Clean, and The Messy, presents a collection of performances that navigate tensions between darkness and light, order and chaos, purity and contamination. Through diverse performative strategies, students investigate the contrasts and intersections between these themes, using the body, objects, and space to interrogate what lies between the structured and the unpredictable.
